I love my nutrient-rich shake in the morning because it is easy, convenient and delicious.
I like to change the ingredients according to how I start my day, this also allows me to have different tasting shakes.
I walk my dog each morning at around 6.30 am. If I go to train after that, I take a “light” version of Bulletproof coffee (organic espresso with 1 tsp organic raw butter and 2 tsp Brain Octane oil), go to the gym and have my shake at home after training. On those days, I always include organic whey protein in my shake.
On other days, I take a shake without whey after the walk.
The main reason I love this breakfast is because I can get as many concentrated nutriments as possible in one drink in a delicious and easy way. It fills me comfortably for about 6 hours which is great and allows me to have a late lunch and to skip dinner every other day.
Here are just a few good reasons to adopt this habit:
Easy and convenient, it doesn’t require thinking or long preparation
It’s packed with nutriments: vitamins, amino acids, fatty acids and minerals
It includes easily absorbable nutriments
It keeps my blood sugar stable and my stomach full for hours, and efficiently suppresses my hunger.
It has gut-healing properties
Customisable - it is so easy to change taste with different berries, greens or cocoa powder
I have a “breakfast drawer” in my kitchen with a big variety of powders which I use for my energy shake. All I need to add is water or coconut milk and some fresh berries.
My drawer includes:
organic whey protein, grass-fed hydrolysed collagen, sunflower lecithin, psyllium, Mg citrate pure powder, raw cocoa powder, hemp seeds, flaxseeds, maca powder, acai powder, raw cocoa nibs, Brain Octane oil, some other dried berries and berry powders, green powders and Slippery Elm - WOW! What a list! Sometimes I put all this in my drink and then I am full of energy for hours. Other times I select those which I feel I need.
My Energy-Boosting Breakfast shake recipe:
1-2 scoops collagen powder
2 tsp Brain Octane oil
1 handful of fresh or frozen berries
1 tsp Maca powder
2 tsp hemp seeds
2 tsp flaxseeds
1 tsp cocoa nibs
1/2 tsp psyllium
1/2 tsp Mg citrate pure powder
1 tsp Slippery Elm
A sprinkle of cinnamon for taste
Blend all together with as much water and/or coconut milk as you like. Feel free to add any organic, high quality green or berry powders.
You can also add fresh leafy greens and turn it into a highly nutritious green smoothie.
Include 1 scoop of organic Whey protein in your shake after training.
