Ingredients: 4-5 kale leaves, one handful of macadamia nuts, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or lard, Himalaya salt, mixed dried herbs (optional), black pepper and a pinch of cayenne pepper
Instructions: Wash the kale and with a knife, remove the leaves from the stems and tear them into bitesize pieces. Dry them with kitchen paper.
Meanwhile, put the macadamias in a blender or food processor, add spices and pulse/blend them into a fine meal. Add the coconut oil or lard. Combine this nut paste with the kale leaves well, toss with hands to distribute.
Bake at 80-90 degree Celsius for minimum 40 minutes, until completely dry and crispy. Let them cool and enjoy! It’s so delicious!!!
The advantage of baking at low temperature is that the leaves don’t burn and more nutrients are conserved.
